Attended the Community Day and managed to see up close and personal some of the amazing machines on display. Some of these machines look big on the outside but are tiny on the inside while others looked really sketchy to me as they seem so fragile, but are clearly airworthy. Would have been nice to be able to jump inside some of them and pretend to be Maverick for a few moments and feel the need for speed…

This is a great, highly active GA (General Aviation) airport, perfect for flight training and quick hops in and out of the Bay Area. Pros: RHV is super accessible, right in San Jose, and is a fantastic base for student pilots with numerous flight schools. The Control Tower is a major plus, making operations safe and efficient in this busy airspace. The FBOs are generally friendly, offering standard pilot amenities. Cons: The biggest drawback is the strict noise abatement procedure, especially at night. Touch-and-go practice shuts down early (around 9 PM), which can be tough if you're working on night currency. The runways are relatively short (around 3,100 feet), which is fine for Cessnas and Pipers, but you definitely need to pay attention to your performance calculations. Bottom Line: A crucial and well-run airport for the Silicon Valley aviation community. Just be sure to read the noise procedures before you fly in!

9/2/2022 A great local airport in Silicon Valley. Gathering location for community events. Home for the Civil Air Patrol. Would be a lost to the community if converted to housing/commercial use.

Just went here for the annual Hot San Jose nights car show. It usually features hot rods, classics, muscle and foreign cars, not so many this year. They also had a band, some military vehicles and a few private aircraft along with a couple sprint cars. It was much reduced this year due to COVID and another bigger car show also this weekend. This was close by and free to attend. I hope it will be fully back in 2022

A convenient airport for general aviation. The staff were accommodating and welcomed us with friendly faces.
